Mosquito Trapping

The most responsible management solution with the lowest ecological impact
Since 1984

Mosquito traps represent the most responsible management solution with the lowest ecological impact. They represent the pinnacle of pesticide and environmental stewardship and target only a specific mosquito species helping to maintain nature’s balance without killing beneficial insects or harming fauna or flora. Our traps lure and contaminate Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes within approximately a 4000 square foot range with a slow-killing larvicide which adheres to the mosquitoes and lets them spread it to other breeding sites, which are often hard to find and treat. This process ensures that mosquito larvae are not only killed inside the trap but also in proximity to it. The larvicide is combined with a biological adulticide that kills the contaminated mosquito in a few days, preventing transmission of diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Yellow Fever, Zika or Chikungunya. In this way, the pesticide kills mosquitoes and their larvae, so that populations are reduced, and disease transmission risks are lowered significantly.

Mosquitos are difficult to control as many have developed resistance to chemical insecticides and deposit their eggs across various small and difficult to find breeding sites.

The traps, which are made of durable recycled polypropylene (PP) components, include a floater that moves along a central tube with the water level, and serves as the landing/resting site. Pheromones that have been infused into the biocide attract gravid female mosquitos making the trap a preferred environment to lay eggs. The traps also contain an additional biological agent which weakens the adult, prevents virus development, and kills it before it can transmit diseases. All of the biological agents are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States.
