Humane Trapping of Live Animals

All of our live animal capture services presume that wild animals will be released into the wild and that domestic animals will be adopted.
Since 1984

Humane trapping of live animals is our preferred method for pest control where applicable for several reasons:

  1. Ethical considerations: Humane trapping is a more ethical approach to pest control because it seeks to minimize harm to the animals being trapped. This is particularly important for wildlife species that may be protected by law or considered threatened or endangered.
  2. Reduced risk of secondary poisoning: Traditional pest control methods such as poison baits can pose a risk of secondary poisoning to non-target animals, including pets and wildlife. Humane trapping eliminates this risk because it is a targeted method of control that only affects the animals being trapped.
  3. Minimal environmental impact: Unlike chemical pesticides, humane trapping does not introduce harmful chemicals into the environment, reducing the impact on non-target species and the ecosystem as a whole.
  4. Selective targeting: Humane trapping allows for selective targeting of specific pest species, reducing the risk of unintentional harm to non-target species. This makes it particularly useful in situations where non-target species are present and need to be protected.
  5. Relocation: In many cases, live animals that are trapped can be safely relocated to a more suitable habitat, where they can continue to thrive without causing harm to human interests. This is particularly important for wildlife species that may have important ecological roles.

Overall, humane trapping of live animals is a preferred method of pest control because it seeks to minimize harm to the animals being trapped while still achieving effective control of pest species. This approach can be particularly useful in situations where traditional pest control methods may not be appropriate or effective.
